Darwinian Religiosity

Darwinian Religiosity

My ecumenical cynicism

Is broad religion.  It does not need pope

Or prophet.  Faiths scream cram-filled with schism,

Schism, SCHISM already, killing hope

Of any certainty.  Among the scree

Of rocks and detritus a little bloom

May come, or, rather, blossoms will be free

Of any coexistence.  There’s no room

For faiths or flowers to agree.  They grab

Their little footholds, digging rootlets in.

The law is that these entities must nab

Their own small niche and never mind the sin.

A Unity?  That they may all be one?

Nope.  Someone’s simply having cynic’s fun.
