Rewrite the stars tonight if only you

Can do that.  Constellations need not be

So limited in color:  white, red, blue

And yellow.  They can stretch infinity.

Rewrite the stars this evening, daring fate

To fault you.  Galaxies are waiting for

Your strength.  The cosmos is not steady state

For you.  Your shining soul is at their core.

Rewrite both Mars and Venus if your God

Will bow to you.  Why shouldn’t Christ accept

Your stellar alphabet though you are flawed?

His heaven-throned heart knows this is why he leapt.

  Rewrite celestial bodies, Saturn’s rings,

The comets, asteroids, with rhyming wings.
