Aurora Glorialis, Aurora Fujialis

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Aurora borealis turns from ice

To flame and turns Lake Biwa’s truest mount

From settled snow to ghosts, from holy gneiss

To spirit, mount sublimed, beyond the count

Of mind, mere mind.  The realm of soulness leaps

Impossibilities and twists them to

Our fancies, even more.  This spirit keeps

The biggest promises and lives in you.

Auroras in australis forms are sent

Above our fancy dreams.  They shine the time

We sleep and live in.  Miracles are meant

For you, in you, despite your lowest, yearning clime.

The reds and greens and violets are yours

In highest sheets of light.  A prophet stirs.
