Adolf Chewing on Heinrich
How long the evil in your life will stretch
Beyond your death you cannot know. Your deeds
Will find a living tombstone where they etch
Your message planted there among the weeds
Of time, perhaps eternity. Perhaps
The tongues of angels and of devils will
Translate that message and produce the maps
To guide your wickedness and let it spill
To times unknown. As likely as that seems
Is quite beside the point. A Holocaust
And corpses in its pits were Hitler’s dreams.
He lingers there in coldest hell depths’ frost.
Your Cocytus is where your teeth will bite
And gnash like Satan through immortal night.
