Incomprehensible in art proves not

True art.  The writers who in intellect

Leave out the masses have thrown out the plot

And other things that normal people want.  “Art’s” sect

Of “poets,” “painters,” “novelists” and such

Attract contempt and so they get it in

The normal world.  In places out of touch

With people (as in academe) this sin

Is shunned.  The people get along without

It, getting on with living, wanting rhyme

And narrative.  The Ivory Towers pout

About normality, “thinking” it is slime.

  At New York cocktail soirees Big Heads reign.

    Beer drinkers read for fun and so are sane.
