(73) Balfe: The Bohemian Girl / Act 2: “I Dreamt I Dwelt In Marble Halls” – YouTube

I dream I dwell in lost long marble halls

You build in sonnets for my long dead soul.

The floors and ceilings and the soul-stone walls

Are made of marble love.  Affection, whole

And utter, makes the temple glisten, gleam

And glow unendingly until you die.

Until you die at least, the lines still stream

From you to me.  The sonnet lines still fly

To me.  They float and levitate.  They build

The corridors I dwell in now, if death

Has Now.  The sonnets heart and mind have willed

Are spaces where I almost hear your breath.

Your breath in sonnets carved for me builds up

This sanctuary with its chalice cup.
