He sleeps away the German afternoon.

He has to sleep because no friend will go

To swim with him.  Inside his dreams now swoon

As if he swims with calm.  Their visions glow

With him as if they gleam together, he

And they avoiding loneliness.  He sleeps

Alone.  He dreams alone since life’s decree

This afternoon is heartless.  In the deeps

Of dreams he swims along with dreams that come

To soothe his solitude.  They are not men

But then again, men seldom know to strum

As lovers want, especially hot men.

He settles for the dreams.  They settle through

His heart.  These dreams are slightly Prussian blue.
