Balancing Ballads with Ballsiness:  Poets Need Whores and Holes, not Mercy

The cicada is
Seen when it stops its crying,
Flying in silence.
~ Shiki [Englished by Phillip Whidden]

Stop singing only.  Be like Byron, Keats

Lord Byron as a male cicada.  N.B.  Some AI image generators are infamously incapabable of getting facial features right.

And Shelley.  Leave wide room in life for love

Between winged stanzas, in between the sheets

Of women wanting verses made of shove

Between their legs that rhyme with third-leg limb.

They want its thrust as much or more than rhymes

Of passion.  Give them rhythm’s pushing hymn.

If both of you need passion made of crimes,

Use flashing flesh of poetry mixed in

With veiny odes to joy.  Give lines and life

To partners, women, men, demanding sin

And if required, take on a sucker’s wife.

The women want you and the men will take

Your grinding.  Don’t put on your brake.
