The Lipless Mask

Unspoken and unspeakable it comes,

The answer, though no question has been asked.
The deepest, pre-dawn half-light answer thrums
Unspeakably. Religions each are tasked
With prophecy and revelation set
In unknown blues and suddenly the sky
Is pregnant with the harshest meaning yet
Discovered waiting with the unknown why.
The burdens of the midnight, night and dawn
Not yet delivered in a meaning youth
Can fathom fade too much, a song withdrawn
Before Cassandra wails out unheard truth.
Or beauty tacit, mumbled, will displace
The other seer who abandons face.
