In Time and Times and Out of Time

The white of the camellia is white,
As white as white has been for eons long
Before a woman or a man had sight
To worship it. Pink sits on limbs for song
Of bird beside pink blossoms, white. The wings
Of bird, the wings of song, the wings of spring
Belong together. They are ever springs
Together in the start of spring. They sing
And show together immemorial
Together naturally. This pairing holds
The painter hypnotized, pictorial
And song-filled as the brushing stroke unfolds.
Forever birds and blossoms represent
Perfection though without its timeless scent.
[Yes, I know. I know the blossoms are not camellias. The plum tree is not a camellia bush. However, the uguisu/Japanese warbler is a uguisu.]
