An illustration in this post shows a young nude human being.  If that will offend you, close this sonnet now.

The song was “Jalousie,” the keyboard played

By Robert Stubbs.  The music teacher chose

Us.  His piano shaped my flute brocade

Of French composer’s hopes.  Do not suppose

That anyone can now remember us

In concert on that evening stage.  Long gone

Are Bob and music teacher . . . soft percuss

Of strikes upon piano notes, song gone,

And beauty long forgotten.  Only I

Remain, remain, remain.  The teacher lost her mind

And Bob his body.  Death approaches, wry,

And history of that moment now stares blind . . .

  And I am left alone and jealous of . . . —

Those two young men long gone once playing love.
