Music in Unrequited Love

Music in Unrequited Love

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. ~ Oscar Wilde

The perfect love is not agape love.

The perfect love is in the music sent

Like sound waves to the person far above

You who remains unkissed.  Withheld assent

Perfects the pining.  You both know you want

Perfection so you never bring your lips

Together.  You decide you should not vaunt

To cosmos this Ideal.  The two tongue tips

Are held apart.  The others think it wrong

And so you both refrain.  The mouth turned up

Appeals.  The mouths of longing lips sense strong

Perfection, stronger than the golden cup.

Perfection comes from holding back the kiss.

Two mouths (four lips) can hear perfection’s hiss.
