Hearts’ Veins are Colored Blue

Hearts’ Veins are Colored Blue

By the breath of his mouth

Blue, azure, all their shining shades show truth.

The lightest blue was first of colors from

The breath of Christ.  That blue was perfect youth

Jehovah first imagined in the hum

Of heaven’s music.  Since that time this blue

Is rarest of all colors, absent now

Except where perfect love lends us a view

That we cannot imagine, causing vow

Of everlasting beauty to the mind.

That loveliness is like the vanished smile

Which death removed from us and folds us blind

To other beauties, placing them near vile.

  Upon light’s spectrum expectation, hope

And love alone can help cold veins to cope.
