The world anew, a D.N.A. not awed
By Christ’s declared divinity. The shake

To air and light explains to poets how
Their words replace the world and leave agape
The canyon in between them. Life must bow
Away and let the lines become the things
More deep, more rich and more a mystery
Than earth so sonnetry becomes the wings
That earth is not, with tortured history.
That history becomes the phantom part
Painstakingly transforming facts for heart.
