Tomorrowless and Tomorrowless and Tomorrowless Like an Ill-conceived Necklace Minus Chain

Perhaps you’ve thought about it. It’s not new
To you. They think we have a past. It’s gone.
They teach us history, in their bookish view,
But it’s an endless vista lacking dawn,
A string of endless Tuesdays and without
A dictionary. No tradition fills
The block you live on. There’s a future pout
But it is saucy in its face. No thrills
Are promised. Silver Screens contained Monroes,
Gold (Once Upon a Time), but in the street
You live in such non-grammars only pose
With diamonds where no chains will ever meet.
The future’s only dollars with their hex
Will offer you a shun-protected sex.
