Julian the Apostate was Proclaimed Emperor in What are Now the Precints of Notre Dame de Paris

When Julian the emperor became

The master of the realm, his men proclaimed

His highness.  Then the giant changes came.

This heir of Constantine thought he had shamed

The empire by abandoning the gods

For Christ and bishops.  Julian then did

Repentance for this sin.  He changed the odds

By bringing back Hellenic Zeus.  This skid

Presumably cause resurrection of

The Great God Pan and wide divinity

Of Greece and Rome.  This older form of love

Replaced the upstart Christian Trinity.

  This newly older proclamation failed

Since now at Notre Dame the Christ’s impaled.
