Nothing is Cleaner Gone Than Yesterdays

Nothing is Cleaner Gone Than Yesterdays

    Slower days passing—
Gathering up—distant
    Are things of the past.
~ Buson [Englished by Phillip Whidden]

Not anything comes slower than the past.

The distance of all yesterdays is huge,

More distant than the Milky Way is vast.

Religions tell us in their subterfuge

That Gods are everywhere, in every time,

Lost times, the present and the future.  False

Is false.  The faiths say otherwise.  This crime

Hulks greater than all galaxies in waltz

Against the truth.  What’s lost is lost, is lost, looms lost.

That Trinity is truth.  Nth trillion moons

Can swirl.  Eternity destroys rooms lost,

Your rooms of love, erasing lovers’ runes.

The past is far too far away.  It can’t

Come back.  All other teachings sing their cant.
