Never the Fall

“there was no more sea” ~ the Disciple whom Jesus loved
I never fall in love. I raise my heart
And fling it up to soar across loves’ skies
So planets, moons and stars will take my part

Across the cosmos, not alone doves’ skies.
When Noah held those wings up, set them free,
He wanted them to flee from floods that hurt
But not escape from fullnesses the sea
Of love can offer, wanting wings to skirt
The Ararats and Sinais and find
A land where Canas fill us up with grapes
And grainfield feasts. yes, further than the mind
Of Jahweh, yes, where men need no escapes.
What Adam wanted and what snake and God
Removed, I leap to, love that leaves men awed.
