Mishmash Manifestations

  Mishmash Manifestations

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Dreams come.  Dreams come and as caverns and as peaks,

As Everests in the sunrise and as seas

At sunset.  Each dream comes to you unique,

Unique to you, unique as ancient frieze

In temple marble.  Dreams slide in as snakes

In fanging jungles, fangs concealed, but fast

In action.  Dreams as nightmares drag in aches

And threat, as Götterdämmerung their blast.

Dreams come.  Dreams go.  They leave a sweaty glow

Of tropic love or trauma’s sulfur fume

And suffocating yellow stench.  They know

Too well, too like a paralyzing stroke.

Dreams come.  Dreams go, eternal in their force,

Some fantasies infernal in their force.
