India as Pangaea
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
What flows from India is more than streams,
The Ganga and Yamuna, more than these.
As if the universe arose from dreams,
The world of culture, West and Japanese,
The Chinese and the plays of Shakespeare, all
Of culture courses from the Indus mind.
Philosophy and mathematics sprawl
From there. The mysticisms all are signed

In Sanskrit or its oldest glowing genes.
The arts and language of the thinking world,
The music and religions and the scenes
Of our imaginations came from there unfurled.
Italian art and German mystic thought
And Einstein India at least have taught.
