Double, Double, Double Predestination Beyond the Apostle’s Imagination

Double, Double, Double Predestination Beyond the Apostle’s Imagination

The giant gem foundations of Saint John’s

Jerusalem in Heaven aren’t that large,

Not when you know the truth, since poor faint John’s

Imagination was too wee.  Enlarge

It just a bit and Johnny would have seen

That all of Heaven’s host was forced to be

Reduced in size to make a tiny scene

That he could cope with, so the jewellery

Foundations were so miniature in size

They couldn’t really hold the waiting crowds,

144,000 guys

Of holiness above the Savior’s clouds.

The jasper, sapphire and the amethysts—

     And emeralds—were just for Calvinists.
