Invisible Gold

                Invisible Gold

The temple built on what is missing, pure

For that, is holier than marble.  Priests

Would hide the structure if they knew for sure

That it would clarify.  Daniel’s beasts

Are far too concrete.  They must not be shown

Except in ultraviolets as shreds

Of waking nightmares carved from bone

And arteries of dreamscape infrareds.

If spirit is in fact just spirit not

The heavy metals, it should not be seen.

Its dreaminess is more like ghosts distraught

By being sieved through diamonds till clean.

The absent sings as ultimate in walls

Beyond the cliffs of death’s own waterfalls.
